Delta Rae Announce Chasing Twisters EP and Debut Title Track
. The Chasing Twisters - EP will be released digitally on November 19th and includes the electric title track, which premiered on Rolling Stone. The band is currently working on a new studio album, which will come out in 2014." On the subject of "Chasing Twisters", Delta Rae guitar player, singer and songwriter Ian Holljes tells Rolling Stone: "When I was a kid, my dad would make up songs about my brother and me, cast as heroic cowboys fighting our way through the Wild West, always with a galloping horse beat like in the theme for Bonanza" explains Delta Rae When the band started touring through the Southwest, I found myself wanting a song like that, anthemic of that incredible landscape and history, evoking the mysterious badlands and cowboys and Indians flying across the salt flats. So I started with the beat and the song came together slowly, the central theme pulled from one of my favorite American folk stories, Pecos Bill, in which the greatest cowboy who ever lived lassoes a tornado. The idea of chasing twisters in the canyon -- chasing something you'll never catch -- is a lot like songwriting for me. Always trying to write the perfect song -- a song that can't be written."
