Usher Defends Justin Beiber After Speeding Controversy
. Former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson is speaking out against Bieber, who reportedly sped through 25-mph zone at highway speeds on Monday night (May 27), according to the L.A. Times. Johnson is one of two witnesses who say they saw Bieber driving his Ferrari through the residential Calabasas, Calif. neighborhood, however the newspaper reports that Bieber's camp denies that the singer was behind the wheel. Bieber's mentor Usher appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday morning (May 29), where he did some damage control and defended the "All Around the World" singer. The R&B crooner explained that it can be hard to grow up and make mistakes in the spotlight, adding, "we hope thathe will continue to just mature." "In this days' age of social media, there's no privacy, and that kind of trial-and-elimination period is kind of done in front of a camera," Usher said on the show. "It's been done and many, many other celebrities are a product of it and some come out bad and some come out good, and I'm hoping for the best. Authorities are reportedly considering the reckless-driving charge a misdemeanor, with investigators expected to present their case to the Los Angeles district attorney's office in the next two weeks. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
