John Mayer Recording First Album Since Throat Surgery
. The first minute-long clip shows a day in the studio, specifically May 21. After a feedback-filled intro, fans get a look at Mayer showing off his pedal rig. "I'm a collector," he says as he picks through a large drawer of colored guitar pedals. As for music, fans hear Mayer playing a bluesy guitar riff, and of course, showing off his best guitar face, along with a muffled recording of a new song that the singer playfully turns off only a few seconds in. But for the most part, Mayer's first studio session reveals little about his follow-up to 2012's Born And Raised, his first since undergoing throat surgery last year. He doesn't even let fans know the title or release date for the upcoming release. Mayer did recently tell Rolling Stone though that he was planning to go a little more country and a little less rock 'n' roll with a few of his new songs. Read about that and see the video here.
