Staley died in 2002 and now his mother, Nancy McCallum, has filed the suit which claims that the surviving members of the group owe her 16% of the band's income, which is half of the money due Staley, according to Seattlepi. The band's attorneys claim that McCallum illegally tried to trademark the band's name and that she has already received far more money from the band than she is due.
