Lana Del Rey's Releases Video For Great Gatsby' Song
. The gauzy, atmospheric clip features the vocalist singing the grand set piece with a back-lit orchestra. Del Rey sparkles with bejeweled tear drops and diamond-encrusted hoop earrings in the video's many close-up shots. Music from Baz Luhrmann's Film The Great Gatsby was released on May 7, and features songs from such artists as Beyonce, the xx, Jack White and Jay-Z, who also served as the album's executive producer. "[The idea] didn't come from 'Let's make a great soundtrack, it came from Fitzgerald,'" the movie's director Baz Luhrmann told MTV about the ambitious soundtrack. "When he wrote that book, he was a modernist, he was in the moment, and the music of the moment was African-American street music called Jazz, and when he put Jazz music in Gatsby, everyone was like 'What are you crazy? It's a fad.' And then he put Hit Parade songs, pop songs, the equivalent of Lana Del Rey singing a beautiful ballad." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
