AC/DC Star Sells Gold Record On eBay

(hennemusic) A gold record awarded to original AC/DC bassist Mark Evans has sold on eBay for $4200 (AU) with the proceeds going toward a good cause.

Evans auctioned his French gold record award for the band's 1976 album, "High Voltage," to raise funds for the Sydney Secondary College (Balmain campus) girls soccer team.

The school is sending the team to Hawaii to compete next month and Evans put up his coveted award to help them on their way.

The gold award was presented to each member of the band in October 1980 by Atlantic Records France to signify the sale of 100,000 copies their first European album release. more on this story
