Black Joe Lewis Stream New Song And Set Album Release
. The band will be releasing their new studio album, Electric Slave, on August 27 but fans do not have to wait until late summer to get a taste as the group are now streaming the album track "Skulldiggin" online here. Joe explains the meaning behind the album's title, "Electric Slave is what people are today with their faces buried in their iPhones and the only way to hold a conversation is through text. The next step is to plug it in to your damned head. Nothing is up front anymore and people are de socializing." Electric Slave was recorded at Church House Studios in Austin, TX and was produced by Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Cat Power, Modest Mouse) with the exception of the songs "Skulldiggin," "Dar Es Salaam," "My Blood Ain't Runnin' Right" which were recorded and produced by John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, Okkervil River) at Elmwood Studios in Dallas. Black Joe Lewis will be hitting the road this fall to support the album release with a North American tour that will be kicking off on September 7th in Nashville, TN at Mercy. The trek will include a special show at New York's Terminal 5 on September 26 with Okkervil River and Pickwick. Jun 26 - Austin, TX KGSR "Blues on the Green" at Zilker Park Set Time: 8:15p
