I wrote "Devil Moon" one night after going to a show. I watched a band play a song that had a riff I really liked. I wanted to write one that was better so I went home, and it came really fast.

The premise of the song is about there being some undeniable force that casts a shadow on all your actions or gives you bad luck. I guess we all feel like that sometimes.

"Devil Moon" was a big breakthrough for me. Before, I didn't even feel like I had a song like that in me, let alone the nerve to write it. The song ended up being the catalyst for my new record Wishbone and helped me create the record.
