Previously Unseen Jon Lord Jam Video Released On His Birthday

. (Classic Rock) Deep Purple legend Jon Lord would have celebrated his 72nd birthday yesterday and to mark the day, a previously unseen rehearsal clip has been released. It was shot in 2010 as the Deep Purple icon jammed Lazy with Doogie White and his band in Essen, Germany.

Lord died last July after a cancer battle and is comemmorated on Purple's new album Now What?! His family have also announced plans for a memorial photo book, of which they say: "It will contain lots of unseen photographs, and come with a recording of Jon's unreleased choral work From Darkness Into Light."

They're asking for contributions from those who met or knew him, saying: "If there's a story, a quote or a joke he told, anything you would be happy to see printed in the book and attributed to you, please send it to book@jonlord.org. If you have a photo you would like to share, this would also be gratefully received." Watch the clip here.
