Carrie Underwood Honors Tornado Victims At CMT Awards
. The song she chose was her latest single, "See You Again." And not only did she deliver an emotionally rich performance of the songs, but she turned it into a moving tribute to the people affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. From the moment she took the stage, the screen behind her filled up with images from in and around Moore, Oklahoma destroyed buildings and a wrecked landscape, but also the rescue workers and others who flocked to the region to help. And adding to the songs emotional lyrics and dramatic build, Carrie was joined partway through the song by a large choir from Christ Church Nashville. Dressed in white robes, they lined the front of the stage and propelled the song's chorus into the clouds. This tribute came shortly after last week's news that Underwood (who is herself a native of Oklahoma) is donating $1 million from her Blown Away Tour proceeds to the Red Cross for tornado relief. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
