TV On the Radio Premiere First New Music In Two Years

(Radio.com) Brooklyn indie rock all-stars TV On the Radio are back with their first new studio recording in over two years. "Couldn't be more excited to be getting back into it, all together," singer/multi-instrumentalist Kyp Malone told Huffington Post, who premiered the track.

"The new songs 'Mercy' and 'Million Miles' came to fruition with such ease that it felt like an invitation to get back to this good work." While we've yet to hear a studio version of the latter (you can find some live clips floating around YouTube), you can listen to the driving, new-wave pulse of "Mercy" here.

It's unclear whether these two songs Malone mentions will appear on a forthcoming album, as the band recently parted ways with Interscope, who have put out all of the band's LPs, including their most recent, 2011′s Nine Types Of Light. If an album does appear, it will be on band member's Dave Sitek's record label, Federal Prism.

"We're sort of collecting material for a record," singer Tunde Adebimpe told SPIN earlier this year, "but right now we're only thinking in terms of songs, smaller things we can put out regularly until an album seems possible. Which I love. It's not that you're less precious about the process, but I like coming in and saying, 'Let's make a couple songs,' not feeling any sort of pressure to lock ourselves in a room." more on this story
