Coming this October, fans will be able to pick up Cody's first book, "Cody Simpson: Welcome to Paradise: My Journey." "We're filling it with a bunch of photos and stuff," Cody said. "I wanted to be able to share my stories through my own words, because Wikipedia is sort of, whatever."

The written word is a new kind of endeavor for Simpson, but he said having a book is going to help him reach his audience in a more genuine way.

"I wanted to sort of help my fans, you know, bring them closer to me," he said. "In everything I do I just want to help them get more personal through the music, whether it's in the music or through a book."

Cody said he remembers the first time he was ever on the radio�at the ripe old age of 13. He was called out of a dinner party out to a car by a friend who knew he was going to be on the air.
