The band recently reunited with Kevin Richardson, who left the group in 2006 and now the original lineup which also include Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and A. J. McLean want to tell their story.

The film will cover the group's 20 year history from their chart topping days in the 1990s to today. "We always wanted to make a film and now is the ideal time � with Kevin back, the fact that we are masters of our own destiny, a new album in the works and our 20th anniversary all adds up to being the right time to share our story," the band said in a statement.

Stephen Kijak who directed the the Rolling Stones documentary "Stones in Exile" will be leading the film project.

'What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction," Kijak told The Hollywood Reporter.
