David Cassidy Arrested By Tom Jones
. Schodack Police Lt. Joseph Belardo says Cassidy was stopped shortly after 12 a.m. Wednesday, about 10 miles south of Albany, N.Y. According to local newspaper the Times Union, he was released from the Rensselaer County Jail around 3 a.m. on $2,500 bail. According to the Times Union, Cassidy was pulled over because he didn't dim his headlights when approaching the arresting officer's patrol car. The rookie officer, named Tom Jones, reported that when he pulled the former teen idol over, Cassidy sang, "What's new, pussycat?" a reference to the other Tom Jones. Officer Jones was unfamiliar with his namesake (and also was unaware that Cassidy was a former celebrity) and didn't get the joke, but reported that Cassidy "was very polite and courteous and joking around despite the situation." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
