Bassist Shavo Odadjian recently released and then removed a barrage of outbursts on his Facebook page, claiming the rest of SOAD wanted to get into the studio but frontman Tankian was preventing it.

Earlier this week drummer John Dolmayan told an audience in Los Angeles: "Next time we come back here we'll have a new f**king album!" But in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, Tankian last night stated nothing was underway.

Q: Is it true that there's a new System of a Down record in the making? Tankian: No, that is not true. A quick scan of press online will show that we have not yet agreed on a timetable for another record due to its time commitments.
