Billy Currington Free On Bail, Details Emerge About Charges
. "Mr. Currington turned himself in to the Chatham County Sheriff's Department at 3:25 p.m. on 4/25 where he was booked on the charges," Daniel Baxter, Public Information Officer at the Office of the District Attorney, told Radio.com in an email. "He was released after posting a $27,700 Bond at 7:15 p.m. on 4/25." This follows the news that broke Wednesday (April 24) that the country singer was wanted by a Savannah, Georgia, grand jury after "making terroristic threats and abuse of an elder person." The indictment was filed in the Superior Court of Chatham County Wednesday for two separate counts. The court papers report that the incident took place on April 15th, when Currington "did threaten to cause unlawful bodily harm to Charles Harvey Ferrelle, a crime of violence, with the purpose of terrorizing." The second count says Currington "did willfully inflict mental anguish upon Charles Harvey Ferrelle, an elder person who is more than 65 years of age who is not a resident of a long-term care facility." It continues to claim Currington threatened "to cause unlawful bodily harm." more. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
