Gossard tells Spin: "I like to write music � exploring with lyrics and figuring out how to make complete songs is fun."

He's gone through more than 60 ideas that he'd noted down since his last outing, and says one thing hasn't changed about his approach. "The things I was attracted to then are still the same things I'm attracted to now � oddball riffs that strike my ear as being different.
