MGMT Deliver Alien Days
. The dreamy but punchy track is punctuated with spacey sound effects and sparkling wind chimes, while frontman Andrew VanWyngarden sings, "Today we find infinite ways it could be any worse/It's a blessing and it's also a curse/Those days have taught me everything I know/How to catch a feeling/And when to let it go." Like their enormously popular Oracular Spectacular single, 2008's "Kids," "Alien Days" ups the creep factor with samples of children's voices, this time layered behind VanWyngarden's lead vocals. The new song is a fresh take on the psych-influenced band's sound, but remains distinctly MGMT think The Doors and Jefferson Airplane if they had access to computers.
