Lauryn Hill Ordered To Pay $504,000 Or Face Jail
. This doesn't mean Hill is off the hook just yet, though. While U.S. Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo postponed the hearing, she gave Hill two weeks to pay $504,000 in back taxes. If Hill doesn't pay the back taxes before her next court hearing, she could face between 24-30 months in jail. "At sentencing, we will be seeking lenience from the judge based on who Ms. Hill is, what she has done positively in the past, what she does in the present, and what we hope she will be doing in the future," Hill's attorney Nathan J. Hochman previously told Radio.com. "She is fully committed to paying back all her tax obligations going forward." Last June, Hill was charged with failing to report about $818,000 she earned in 2005; $222,000 in 2006 and $761,000 in 2007, the Star-Ledger reports. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
