Philip Anselmo Releasing Solo Album and Plans Tour
. Anselmo co-produced the album with Michael Thompson at his New Orleans studio, Nodferatu's Lair. He was backed by his band The Illegals which features Marzi Montazeri on guitar and drummer Jose Manuel "Blue" Gonzales. Anselmo had this to say about the album, "It wasn't about doing a paint-by-numbers thrash or heavy metal record. It's an angry album that only I could do. I don't see anybody else out there screaming about the same sh*t I'm screaming about. On this album, there isn't any wordplay, there isn't any hidden message, it's all right there in front of you." Housecore Records, Anselmo's own record label, will be releasing "Walk Through Exits Only" on CD, vinyl and as a digital download. He also plans to support the effort with his band the Illegals by taking part in what his camp calls a major North American tour this summer. Dates and details have yet to be released.
