Taylor Swift Receives Honorary Star of Compassion Award

. Country music star Taylor Swift has received the 2012 Honorary Star of Compassion Award by Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services, a Tennessee nonprofit group dedicated to disaster relief and education.

"Taylor Swift has inspired the small community of Northwest Tennessee with her uplifting words and music of encouragement and has become a positive role model for the young and old alike here. It is with great honor and appreciation that we present this one of a kind, jeweled award to such an outstanding individual on behalf of our organization." - said Rob Adcock, Director of Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services during a presentation at Big Machine Label Group in Nashville, TN.
