Singled Out: Renegade Foxxx's Drinking The Night Away
. "Drinkin The Night Away" came about when I got in the studio with Phillip Jackson, who's a great producer in the industry, lot of number one records. He's been a friend of mine for a long timeI was actually a big part of his success early on. He came up and we collaboed for the first time on a few things and this record just happened. It just felt goodeverything, the bridge, chorus etc. From the second I heard the beat the rest started just coming to me and I knew I had something special. I wanted to do a record that was completely crossover. Hip-hop has taken a leap to pop, hip-pop, whatever you want call it, which works for me since that's my niche. I'm not this gangsta thugged out battle rapper, I like to have a good time and my music reflects that. I have been lucky enough to make some great songs over the years but this record has a feel to it unlike anything I've ever done. It just feels good when that piano kicks in, the first time I heard it, it just felt right. I played an early version of the song for Ben Willis from Indie Pop and he told me he knew it was a monster and that's the feedback I've been getting across the board. Everyone feels that this is going to be my biggest record. I'm not going to stop until this goes #1. I don't care how long it takes! I was enjoying doing the lyrics for this one, this song just felt sooo good. When an artist is in front of the microphone in that booth you HAVE to feel it. There's a certain feeling you get when you know you nailed it. That's how you know you got a beast. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you check out the video right here!
