(Rock News Desk) Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has come closer than every to committing to a new album with the band following the death last year of bassist Paul Gray.

The tragedy forced the Iowa nine-piece onto a year-long hiatus but there had been rumblings about discontent in the camp before Gray was found in a Des Moines hotel room after an accidental overdose.

Taylor had since said he wasn't convinced a new album was possible without the bassist's input, and took part in the band's three-week European festival tour comeback as a way of testing the feeling amongst his bandmates and fans. But now Slipknot have committed to a US tour next year and although that's not enough to send the singer into a writing frenzy, he's now said new material is likely to be made after more live shows. more on this story
