Kelly Clarkson Explains Stronger Songwriting

. (popmusiclife) Kelly Clarkson is back with her new album, "Stronger," and the pop diva certainly continues to present a tough girl image. But there's more to her than that.

"I love a feisty song. I like to be sassy. That's usually a breakup song," Clarkson tells MTV. "It's really in your face."

"A lot of times, if I'm writing it, a lot of people think that's about a guy; it's not actually about that. It's more about my work environment," says Kelly. "I write 'metaphorically speaking' a lot. Sometimes it's not always about a guy; I just end up writing it more that way because it's better for mainstream radio. I actually haven't dated in a while, so there's no breakup song for me."
