(Gibson) Singer and bassist Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Black Country Communion is getting onboard the autobiography bandwagon, as he readies for the release of his autobiography, Deep Purple and Beyond: Scenes from the Life of a Rock Star, on May 12.

According to Blabbermouth.net, the book was co-written with British author and journalist Joel McIver, who has worked on the autobiographies of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Ice Cube and others.

The collection features an introduction by none other than Metallica's Lars Ulrich, as well as rare photos and a 10-inch vinyl EP featuring the following all-new recordings: "What is a Woman's Role?" (Trapeze, written by Hughes) "Holy Man" (Deep Purple, written by Hughes, David Coverdale, Jon Lord) "Dying to Live" (new acoustic track by Hughes) more on this story
