Queen's Brian May Remembers Freddie Mercury
. For Queen guitarist Brian May, this year is one of particular reflection on his late singer, the great Freddie Mercury. With Island re-releasing all the band's albums in deluxe formats to mark the band's 40th anniversary and a new biopic in production, featuring Borat's Sacha Baron Cohen as the legendary frontman, the 63-year-old guitarist knows that this is hardly the time to sidestep the group's musical legacy. "When Freddie died, it was like losing a family member, and we all handled it in different ways," May told the Telegraph. "For a time, I really wanted to escape from Queen; I didn't want to know about it. I think that was my grieving process. But I'm very proud of what we did together.
