Forrest Day Debut Set

(Shorefire) Ninth Street Opus has set an October 11 release date for Forrest Day's debut, self-titled album.

His name also represents a powerful tight-knit 5-piece band, and their new CD is from start to finish a gripping, tragicomic journey into the American mind.

The precision Day uses to examine the cultural zeitgeist with his lyrics is found in the music itself as well. Trained as a jazz saxophone player, Day pulls from many styles resulting in a truly genre-defying collection of songs on Forrest Day.

Day, who produced and recorded the album in San Francisco's legendary Hyde Street Studios, says, "A lot of the music has this kind of laughing-at-life type of feel a tragicomic attitude." In other words, though he dissects with a scalpel and the music is meticulously crafted, there is an underlying layer of humor on every cut.
