The Scottish born Australian rocker, who has had a remarkable 13 No1 albums in his adopted home land as Cold Chisel frontman and as a solo star, admits he hates shows like American and Australian Idol and he recalls the impact being catapulted into the glare of the spotlight had on Men At Work.: "I hate those shows. A lot of good young singers have come through them but I don't like singing competitions," Barnes told RockAAA. "It's a very tough thing to do (turning people into stars overnight).
