. (Gibson) Next year, Coachella will take place over two weekends in April instead of the usual one-weekend affair. Organizers have announced the 2012 edition of the music fest will happen on April 13-15 and 20-22 in Indio, California.

Although fans can expect double the days and double the music, they shouldn't prepare for double the amount of acts. According to Spinner.com, Coachella will feature the same lineup on each weekend. Whether everyone will play at the same time and on the same days is yet to be seen.

It has been speculated that the cause for the decision came from the success of hosting Coachella, as usual, this year and then hosting The Big Four (with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax) show a week later. more on this story
