Dave Grohl Declared A Godlike Genius

. (Gibson) Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will be given the Godlike Genius award at February's Shockwaves NME Awards in London. Grohl will pick up the award on Feburary 23 at the O2 Acaedmy Brixton. His band will also perform that evening.

"I don't think I'm godlike or a genius," he told NME.com. "It's flattering. It's a nice thing to be acknowledged for doing something you love to do, but in truth I don't consider it a body of work because I don't consider it work."

The former Nirvana drummer will join an elite bunch of previous honorees: The Cure, The Clash, Paul Weller, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream and New Order. more on this story
