(Gibson) The 80th birthday of Abbey Road Studios in London is going to be commemorated in a two-day concert. The Symphony at the Park concert will take place at West London's Chiswick House and Gardens and feature orchestral renditions of famous songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Oasis and Radiohead, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

To celebrate the legendary studio's history the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play songs including "Hey Jude," "Time" and "High and Dry," among others, during the program on Saturday (August 20). The second day's event will feature movie themes, including music from Batman, Star Wars and Harry Potter.

In a statement, none other than Paul McCartney gave the event his blessing. "The Symphony at The Park concerts are a great way to celebrate a truly iconic symbol of British music," the former Beatle said. "I hope everyone has a fabulous time there and I wish Abbey Road all the best for another 80 rocking years." more on this story
