Jefferson Airplane Inspired Noel Gallagher's New Project

. (Gibson) Noel Gallagher recently explained how he came up with the name for his new solo album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, due in October. Apparently it was partially inspired by Jefferson Airplane.

He told XFM, "I thought, Ah! What if I was Noel Gallagher's... something. And then maybe a month passed and I was looking through something and there's a song by Jefferson Airplane called 'High Flying Birds.' And that name jumped out. I had a bit of a eureka moment, so I wrote it down. I thought, that looks really cool. It doesn't mean anything, you know?"

In the same XFM interview, Gallagher admitted that his new wife is not a fan of all his songs. "I've got to say, my missus is not the biggest fan of anything I've ever done ever. She's a bit like... meh. It's not Kasabian, is it? Do you know what I mean?" more on this story
