New Public Image Ltd Music Funded By Butter Ad

. (Gibson) John Lydon's Public Image Ltd. are recording their first new material in 20 years. Lydon, (a.k.a. Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten), told BBC 6: "We've got ourselves in a position where we can afford to [do] this, all of us love what we do, it's a fantastic environment PiL has created for itself."

Lydon recently signed up for some butter commercials, a financial deal that funded this music project. Lydon claimed: "It is important to realize that in all the years I have been in the music industry the only people that treated me with any real respect was a butter manufacturer."

The singer also is, he says, as musically content as he's been in years, saying, "It was difficult in the past because I wasn't really inspired by the people wrapped around me � sometimes yes, sometimes no, but not to this level and this intensity." more on this story
