(42 West) Universal Motown Records have set a April 12 release date for "Automatic," the debut solo single from Aubrey O'Day, former Danity Kane singer and current star of Oxygen's hit reality series, "All About Aubrey".

Produced by Adonis (Beyonc, Mariah Carey, Usher), "Automatic," "All About Aubrey" viewers will recognize from the show's opening sequence as she sings, "When the beat goes boom / I hit the room / My body goes automatic." "Automatic" will be available for purchase exclusively at iTunes starting on April 12.

"I'm a proud new SRC/Universal Motown artist and I want to thank SRC CEO Steve Rifkind for believing in me," said O'Day. "I also want to thank my loyal fans who have kept me going through this long journey of ups and downs," she added. "That's why I'm excited to share my first dance single, 'Automatic,' with them. It's the first song I recorded for my solo project because I wanted to represent all the people who don't feel the need to go all out to get attention. This song is for everyone who automatically commands attention whenever they walk into a room! Everything they do is Automatic!"

Born in San Francisco and raised in the small desert town of La Quinta, CA, Aubrey O'Day had her sights set on stardom at an early age. She starred in school musicals such as The Wizard of Oz and Fame, and earned a multitude of regional honors, including the Desert Theatre League's Outstanding Juvenile Performer and a finalist spot in 98.7's "Be a Star" contest, among many others. O'Day's big break came in 2004 when she was selected to compete for a shot at pop stardom on the hugely popular MTV reality show, Making the Band 3. She was then handpicked by P. Diddy for a spot in "the band," later named Danity Kane. In 2006, Danity Kane's platinum self-titled debut album bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, propelled by the hit single "Show Stopper." The group's second album, 2009's Welcome to the Dollhouse, also topped the Billboard 200 chart and spawned a platinum hit single called "Damaged," which soared to No. 6 on Billboard's Pop Songs chart. Following her much-publicized exit from Danity Kane, O'Day starred as Amber Von Tussle in the Broadway musical Hairspray in 2008 and she headlined Planet Hollywood Vegas' Peepshow in 2009. She is currently the star of her own reality show, Oxygen's All About Aubrey, which scored the network's highest-rated series premiere ever with its March 7 debut. Aubrey O'Day currently resides in Orange County, California with her dogs Ginger and Maryann. For more information visit: www.aubreyoday.com
