Mindless Self Indulgence Get Tight Again
. To commemorate the release, the band will be posting a free download of the track "Dickface" on their website today In 1999, Mindless Self Indulgence burst onto the New York City scene, playing to packed audiences at the likes of the now defunct CBGBs, Coney Island High, Brownies and The Knitting Factory. That same year, they put out their debut album, a 15-track release called Tight. The album was only available for six months, as the band signed to a major label and was asked to shelve it. It has remained out of print ever since its independent release. The only available circulating copies of Tight still sell today for as much as $300 on eBay. Even though the album has been unavailable for the vast majority of the band's career, the songs from Tight have been a staple of MSI shows for over a decade, and only now are they available again in recorded form. The band shared their thoughts on the reissue: Jimmy Urine commented, "Everyone always said Mindless Self Indulgence was 10 years ahead of its time. So this record should fit in perfectly in 2011!" Kitty concurs, "This album stole our youth." Steve Righ? said , "Some things get better with age...this didn't." Now, for the first time in over a decade Tight is back as the newly enhanced Tighter. This amazing re-issue features the 15 original, highly coveted, mono recordings, all newly re-mastered, plus twelve previously unreleased audio tracks. Bonus features include a DVD with over an hour of never-before-seen videos from the band's earliest shows, plus unreleased photos, printed lyrics, and behind-the-scenes commentary from the band. The album is also available on vinyl for the first time ever. CD/LP Tracklist: * = BONUS MATERIAL DVD Tracklisting:
