The Frames 20th Anniversary Tour
. The Frames were last seen and heard in 2006 supporting their sixth full length, The Cost (ANTI). At that time, as the fates would have it, there was an unexpected turn of events when Glen's "side project", The Swell Season with fellow Academy Award winner Marketa Irglova, launched them into mythical status thru their work in the movie, Once. The time since The Cost has been well spent and with the success of The Swell Season there is a new and invigorated fan base, which have yet to witness The Frames live show. And as anyone who has attended a gig will attest, The Frames shows are not to be missed. The timing seems right for the self admitted "folk rocker" (Hansard) to get back in touch with the second half of that equation. "With The Frames, it's the throwing your arms around the room thing," says Hansard. "When our gigs are at their best, you throw the energy out and it gets thrown back twice the size. If you trust in the moment, if you're willing to be the fool and make the mistake and get it wrong, then you've great potential to get it absolutely right. And I think that can be the scary thing about a Frames gig and the great thing about a Frames gig." A portion of the proceeds from The Frames Twentieth Anniversary Tour will benefit the (RED) Global Fund which is the world's leading financer of programs to fight AIDS, TB and malaria. The Global Fund invests 100% of (RED) dollars in HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, including interventions targeting women and children. Global Fund (RED) HIV/AIDS grants are selected based on a track record of consistently good performance. For more info go here: http://www.joinred.com/red/rednights November -19, Philadelphia, PA .
