Rare Keith Richards Canvas Charity Auction
. Recently, Russell Young collaborated with acclaimed photographer Henry Dilts to release a colorful series of limited edition silk screens on canvas of Dilts' original photographs from the late '60s and early '70s. One of these iconic photos is a candid of Rolling Stones' guitarist Keith Richards, bottle of Jack in his hand, as he jaunts past his chauffeurs on the way to his private car in 1979. The band had just had an epic year - the release of Some Girls at #1 in the US, a guest spot on Saturday Night Live, and the brutal legal battle for Richards over drug possession in Canada ending with an order to perform two free charity concerts in Oshawa. As a donation to The Art of Elysium, an organization that encourages artists to dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions, Russell Young is auctioning a rare 40" x 60" screen print on canvas of Keith Richards 1979, edition 12/20. The work, valued at $16,000, is up for auction at luxury charity auction site charitybuzz through September 15 at - http://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/218501 Preview and Purchase Rolling Stones CDs |
