I really wish I could show him what I've done, because he had so much to do with it," says Chris Rock. After the special premieres, Back From Hell: A Tribute To Sam Kinison will be released uncut and uncensored on DVD via Comedy Central on Tuesday, November 16th. Bonus features include stories from The Comedy Store in Los Angeles with comedians Pauly Shore, Marc Maron among others; a Live "Wild Thing" performance and the original music video of the song; and additional classic Kinison stand-up. Kinison brought an unseen intensity to the table that captivated audiences nationwide and left them appalled and crying with laughter. A Pentecostal minister before turning to comedy, Kinison's preacher style stand-up was a rare thing of disgusting beauty that is still missed today. With a reputation as a world class party animal, he was deemed the "Rock n' Roll Comedian" and transformed himself into one of the most successful and influential stand-ups of the '80s and early '90s. Tragically, Kinison died in a car crash on the way to a performance in 1992. Preview and Purchase Sam Kinison CDs |
