Court Shuts Down LimeWire

. (Gibson) BBC News reports that a U.S. district court in New York has issued an injunction that in effect closes down the file-sharing website LimeWire.

For the past four years, the site, owned by the Lime Group, has been in dispute with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

LimeWire visitors now see a notice that reads: "This is an official notice that LimeWire is under a court ordered injunction to stop distributing and supporting its file-sharing software. Downloading or sharing copyrighted content without authorization is illegal." - more on this story
