Today Bob Wayne tells us about "Reptile" from his new album, "Outlaw Carnie". Here is the story:

My grandmother tells this story the best but I'll try my best! When I was a child my grandmother would pick us up and take us to church every Sunday morning. I loved it because we always went to Roys Western Smorgy Borgy afterwards for the all you can eat buffet!

In church I learned about the story of Lucifer and God. How Lucifer was cast down from heaven with some other angels. I also learned that god wanted us to love and pray for everything. So grandma still tells this story and it's really funny to hear this little old women say this. keep in mind I'm 8 years old at this time..

BOB- grandma?

GRANDMA- yes Bobby

BOB-we're supposed to love, forgive and pray for everybody right?

GRANDMA- that's right!

BOB- well.then I love, forgive and pray for Lucifer.

You should have seen the look in her eyes! She was shocked and didn't really know what to say. (I think that it made her think a minute)

Well that's what the song REPTILE is about. It's a song coming from Lucifer's perspective of what happened, and where he is now "Violence runs like a river through my veins, like a horse without its reigns, a soldier on the plains" is stating how angry he is still for what happened. "I'll slowly fade away.like I did on the dayhe through us all away" is recalling the day he and the other fallen angels were cast down.

I actually wrote this at my brother's house and he helped me a bit, it was pretty cool.especially since he's a devout Christian! (don't worry brother.your god will forgive youand if not, well you made some brownie points with good ole Lucifer!! Hehehe)

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
