Darlene Love Live Album Released
. Recorded last February, "The Concert of Love", produced by REEL Good Productions LLC in association with SOBO Productions, features Darlene Love's classics including "He's a Rebel", "Da Doo Run Run", "(Today I Met) the Boy I'm Gonna Marry" and the song that's become an annual Love performance on Late Show With David Letterman: "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)". A companion DVD of "The Concert of Love" is planned for release later this year. "'The Concert of Love' presents the Darlene Love the world adores, on stage singing the great songs that made her famous," explained Karen Braithwaite-Yarn, co-founder of REEL Good Productions, at this morning's announcement. The album has already drawn rave reviews from icons including legendary radio host Cousin Brucie who calls it "remarkable and heartwarming" and adds that "the mountain has never been higher than on Love's version of 'River Deep Mountain High'." Rocker Bruce Springsteen says Darlene's classics "sound as steam rolling fresh today as the day they were released." Ms. Love continues to perform her hits on stages around the world and last week, was nominated a third time for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "Darlene is the most powerful singer of all the girl group voices from the sixties," continues Mr. Springsteen. "She's one of my all time favorites and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame won't be complete without her." "I'm thrilled and delighted to present this new live concert CD," said Darlene Love from her home outside of New York City. "What a simply blessed year this has been from the concerts, to the album, and now another nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I hope my fans will enjoy listening to 'The Concert of Love' as much as I enjoyed making it for them." Click here to read today's full Day in Pop report Preview and Purchase Darlene Love CDs |
