Today Arthur Nasson tells us about "Unglued" from his brand new album "Echo Garden," which was released this week. We now turn it over to for the story:

Oh, "Unglued." What a fun time I had recording this one. In dealing with the disappointment, that comes with the complete madness of most humans, many people lose all coping skills and regress steeply, becoming disillusioned, embittered and withdrawn.

"Unglued" is about flying in the face of this and not only finding the joy in life in spite of, but embracing the childish fun of flipping people off along the way. The narrator [that's me] suggests in a very, "NO, REALLY, YOU SHOULD BE LOCKED UP, HERE'S BUS FARE TO MCCLEAN HOSPITAL" sort of way. That the real problem here is neither a lack of communication or difference in perception, what is at issue is that the interaction has soured due to one party being completely F#$%$@ing insane.

Set to an early sixties kind of Beatle-esque jangle of Telecasters through Vox Amps, walking bass and my young son [12 at the time of the session] playing drums with the swagger and swing, most drummers couldn't manage from a noose.

We travel along adding a few production nods along the way, like the double tracked the lead vocals where I got to pour down the lyrics like cold glasses of beer. Moving on to add a series of vocal harmonies that stay together as they travel in differing directions, while doing tambourine and percussion at the same time. Adding a guitar solo soaked in echo that follows the vocal line.

Well, I am clearly determined to have fun, jump in if you like.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
