Elvis' Favorite Roller Coaster Saved

. (Gibson) Green Bay, Wisconsin Mayor Jim Schmitt is going to continue fundraising activities to build the Zippin Pippin roller coaster in Green Bay, reports Tennessean.com.

Elvis Presley's favorite roller coaster was originally located in Memphis, Tennessee, but was sold and moved to Green Bay in 2010.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that the project is now expected to cost $3.5 million, up from the original $3 million estimate. Mayor Schmitt says $300,000 in city reserves has been tapped and that private donations will cover the remaining deficit. - more on this story
