Aretha Franklin Cancels All Shows

. (Gibson) Acting on doctor's orders, soul queen Aretha Franklin has cancelled all her concerts and public commitments for the next six months.

BBC News reports that the 68-year-old legend is "resting comfortably" at her home.

Aretha Franklin was forced to cancel two gigs this summer after breaking two ribs in a fall. "The award-winning songstress sends her sincerest apologies to her loyal followers and colleagues for the cancelled shows," a press statement said. - more on this story
