Sun Domingo Set Live Album Release
. Says Guitarist Edgel Groves: "We recorded this album in Montreal while supporting the UK band Marillion, who were so gracious in giving us the opportunity to play for their incredible fans. Recorded over two nights, we picked the best 12 performances and decided to release them because of the magic they possessed when listening back. We believe our fans will love this album because it gives them the opportunity to re-live the Sun Domingo experience, and it gives new fans the chance to hear us in such an amazing setting and hopefully inspires them to come see a show." Says Rock Ridge Music President Jason Spiewak about the signing: "Sun Domingo melted my face on The Rock Boat; the band puts on an incredible live show! This vibe is captured well on this live collection, and the record allows the listener to connect in a very special way." In addition to the live album, there are plans for a digital EP this summer, as well as a full-length studio album in the fall, both meant to capture their unique sound and personality. Sun Domingo recently appeared on the 10th Anniversary 2010 Rock Boat, featuring such names as Sister Hazel, Augustana, Marc Broussard and Pat McGee, which led to the band signing with Rock Ridge Music. They plan to tour across the U.S. and Canada to support their upcoming releases (see tour dates below), and plans for a European tour are also in the works. The Atlanta-based power trio, which features Jason Pomar (lead vocals/bass), Edgel Groves Jr. (guitar/vocals) and Nathan Lathouse (drums/vocals), met in Athens, GA, while in school there and formed Sun Domingo in late 2004. Musicians, music fans, and unsuspecting toe-tappers alike are drawn to the band's intensely magnetic live performances that crown catchy hooks and straightforward musicianship.
