William Fitzsimmons New Remix Album and Tour Coming This Summer
. On the new album (Mercer Street/Downtown Records, distributed to Independent Record Stores nationwide via Junketboy,) Fitzsimmons' hushed gem 'The Sparrow and the Crow' gets an electronic makeover. From trippy reimaginings of 'I Don't Feel It Anymore' and 'If You Would Come Back Home' to a lush arrangement of 'You Still Hurt Me', featuring the accompaniment of a High School choir, to a twisted cover of 'I Kissed A Girl', 'Derivatives' showcases Fitzsimmons' irreverence and willingness to experiment, as well as the strength of his original songs, which stand up well to their new surroundings. As a 'Derivatives' bonus, fans are invited inside William's European tour for 'Sparrow', as he recalls his unconventional life in the documentary 'Finding Home': A short film that follows former psychotherapist turned indie folk sensation William Fitzsimmons, as he explores his childhood with two blind parents, his parents' divorce and ultimately the demise of his own marriage. With his European tour as the visual backdrop and his music as the score, William discusses the commonalities in our humanity and explores the importance of love, relationships, and commitment and how they fit in our current short attention span culture.
