Michael Jackson Doctor Will Be Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter was a top story in Jan. Here is the recap: The LAPD investigation into the cause of Michael Jackson's death has reportedly been completed and the case will now be turned over to the district attorney with Jackson's doctor reportedly facing charges, according to reports.

FMQB reported on Friday, "Now that the LAPD has completed a thorough report, the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney within the next few weeks." The Associated Press contradicted the report that the case is closed but they reported on the expected outcome: Prosecutors are prepared to seek an indictment of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray , on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death, the Associated Press has learned.

A law enforcement source who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation remains open said Friday that Murray would be prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence alleging that his treatment of Jackson was an extreme departure from the standard of care normally followed by physicians. - more on this story
