The Ray Johnston Band Kicks off Summer Tour
. This is the first tour for The Ray Johnston Band which formed in 2009 after former Dallas Maverick Ray Johnston beat cancer for the 5th time. Ray Johnstons journey from professional athlete, to survivor, to rocknroller is chronicled in the 10-partHDNet documentary series Ray Johnston Band: Road Diaries. During this first juggernaut, The Ray Johnston Band will perform at storied venues throughout Texas, Louisiana and in Rays home state of Alabama. It was an honor to get to play for the Dallas Mavericks and to be a part of that amazing team, says Johnston. It's is no less amazing to be a part of the brilliant camaraderie among these great musicians who have agreed to be a part of The Ray Johnston Band. The band's debut album, Sweet Tooth, is available from iTunes and Amazon.com. A self-taught guitarist, Johnston crafts catchy relatable songs that his growing legion of fans have come to appreciate. That sparkling repertoire, coupled with a high-energy live show highlighted by the bands stellar musicianship makes for a compelling evening of great music. It is important to me, in the live show, to challenge my band and let each musician shine, says Johnston who has surrounded himself with players of the highest caliber, each of whom could easily take the spotlight on their own. But the basketball analogy pervades -- this is a team and the winning is a collective endeavor. Preview and Purchase Ray Johnston CDs |
