Keegan DeWitt Releases New EP
. The EP is the first exclusive release through the site and includes with download a free, brand new Daytrotter session from DeWitt in lossless format. DeWitt wrote Nothing Shows last fall in Paris and in his current hometown of Nashville, TN, where it was also recorded. The 7-song EP is lush and varied, ranging in sound from evocative and orchestral ("Tired of Love," "Michel Bizot") to exuberant and playful ("Say La La") to rousing and dancebeat-inflected ("Hearts Beat Loud"). Inspired by the poems of Philip Larkin, he intertwined the resonant lyricism of his debut album, Islands, with the refined craftsmanship of his film scores to create one stunning, cohesive work. The Portland, OR-native DeWitt has scored multiple New York Times-heralded films; his most recent work appears in the SXSW-standout Cold Weather (picked up by IFC Films in late spring), recently deemed "outstanding" in a film review by the Hollywood Reporter. DeWitt will also travel to New York, NY, next month for a show at Rockwood Music Hall on August 7th. Click here to read today's full Day in Pop report Preview and Purchase Keegan DeWitt CDs |
