Yes Giantess Aiming Big
. The video is directed by the Brooklyn duo of Ben McIntire and Danny Abel. The 1930s-sci-fi-inspired epic features femme fatale robots, a kidnapping, and heavy fog; all of which perfectly compliment "The Ruins'" insistent, throbbing brand of pop. "The Ruins" will be released by cool-pop-tastemaker-du-jour Neon Gold, the team that first brought you Passion Pit, Marina & The Diamonds and Ellie Goulding. Also keep an eye out for a slew of remixes coming from some of the hottest new young players about. The band will be providing unique video content to complement each remix - all of which will be available online. On the strength of their previous release, "Tuff 'n Stuff" / "You Were Young" (Out on Neon Gold, produced by Passion Pit's Ayad Al-Adhamy) Yes Giantess erupted through the blog world and onto international dance floors - including Osheaga Festival, Latitude Festival, and The Great Escape Festival. With "The Ruins" the band expands the concept even further, showcasing a keen ear for pop that ranges from lighthearted grooves to dark, pulsing dance floor anthems. 2009 was certainly a fun time on the road for Yes Giantess, both stateside and overseas. They found themselves touring with Little Boots, Calvin Harris, Marina and The Diamonds, and MSTRKRFT. But 2010 is shaping up to be bigger and better as they prepare to embark on their first 2010 tour with UK pop phenom La Roux. Tour Dates w/ La Roux: 1/31/10 Boston, MA @ Paradise Rock Club 2/1/10 Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall 2/3/10 Quebec City, QC @ Imperial 2/5/10 Montreal, QC @ Metropolis 2/6/10 Ottawa, ON @ Capital 2/10/10 Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club 2/11/10 New York, NY @ Webster Hall Click here to read today's full Day in Pop report Preview and Purchase Yes Giantess CDs |
